Guest Blogger: Miss D

Hey there!
My blogger name is Miss D, and I am a grade one teacher in Halifax Nova Scotia. I teach in a private school to students who are either immigrants or the children of immigrants. I don't blog about teaching yet, but I'm thinking about switching the focus of my blogging at And Something Pink to this after our wedding (my current focus).
I figure doing a guest blog here, and any anywhere else I'm asked ;) , is a great way to get my feet wet in teaching blogging.
I hope you like what I have to share!

Last week my class made our first of many art projects to welcome spring. My kiddies had a lot of fun putting these sheep together.
I began the lesson by telling them three sheep/lamb stories and asked them to identify what was the same about them.

Baa Baa Black Sheep
Mary Had a Little Lamb
The Boy Who Cried Wolf

Materials:
Green Construction Paper
White tissue paper (precut into squares by the teacher)
One Crayon (I used black on my sample)
One Unsharpened pencil
Liquid Glue

Here's a tutorial for you in paint to show you how to draw the sheep. I found the instructions online somewhere, but I cannot find the link. I apologize to the designer of these steps, but all images are my own unless otherwise noted.
Pass out green construction paper and follow these steps.
Use your black crayon to draw two ovals near the middle of the page to form ears.
Next draw an oval shape connected to the ears to create the face.
Add your face!
Now I demonstrated how to draw a "cloud" around the entire page. You may want to make yours smaller, as I discovered that for most of my students this craft takes two hours to do, not the one hour I had alloted. Meaning the following Friday we had to finish them.
At this point I asked my students what was missing and we added our feet.
We passed out to pairs of students a square of construction paper (may I suggest cardboard instead?) with a puddle of glue, and laid in the centres of their tables with a pile of tissue squares. After a quick tutorial on how to place the tissue on the end of the pencil so their erasers don't get sticky, and how to quickly dip the tissue in the glue so the tissue doesn't STAY in the glue, they were off!
Miss D tip #1: Hold on to the tissue AND the pencil when dipping in glue to ensure they both come back.
These are now gracing our primary hallway, facing this weeks Bumblebees.
How are you welcoming spring in your classroom?

High heels and seamed stockings

Slim legs, fishnet stockings and black pumps
Thanks to all of my highheels and stockings fans for your nice reactions to my last post. No worries - I'm back again with a lot of updates ;).
As some of you suggested to wear this heels with fishnet stockings, well, here are some first pix of the nice black patent 6 inch pumps from the last posting ;). This time my friend (she's a shoesize 8 too) wears them with amazing looking black fishnet stockings. They have a lace top and a very special lace-seam which makes her slender legs look even longer. Together with these high heels a really sexy combination and an eyecatcher!!
High Heels and Stockings are sponsored by loveoffashion.com - a huge thank you!!!
Hope you like these heels and stockings as much as i do (as you'll see some more photos of them for sure ;))

My new black patent Pleaser Women's Domina-402 pumps

Here are some first photos of my new 6 inch (15.25 cm) high heels in black patent leather. I just took them out of the box and made some photos for you so that you can see in what kind of shoes you can expect some photos of me soon. I have already similar shoes from Pleaser which are one of my favorite pumps. Really love this kind of shoes very high, stylish and have an ankle strap.
I have to apologize for not updating my high heels and stockings blog for about 3 weeks. But it was the begining of another semester at university for me - which is always a very very busy time.
As soon as the weather is a bit better you'll see some outdoor high heels pics of me. Really can't wait until its warm enough to wear all my nice sandals again.
Many thanks to loveoffashion.com who sponsored this amazing heels!!!
Greetings & Kisses

black High Heels and Stockings

...what I wore underneath my ball-outfit from last weekend? Well, now you know ;). Black 5 inch High Heels with pointed toes, a metal heel and a slim ankle-strap together with black stockings. This few pix were taken when I pulled up my stockings and tried to attach them to the suspenders of my garterbelt. It's not that easy if you wear gloves and a corset ;).

Red High Heel Pumps and seamed Stockings

Red High Heels and long legs

Red Pumps and seamed Stockings

Red High Heel Pumps and seamed Stockings
My friend wearing my 4.5 inch red high heel pumps, seamed stockings, a black garter belt and a black mini skirt. As she has the same shoe-size like I have, we sometimes just wear the shoes of the other one ;). And, I must say the red stilettos really fit her nice shaped legs very well. With their red glossy leather they are really eyecatchers. Everyone looks at the heels first.
Lucky you she had french nail polish on so I took a photo of her toes (as some of you recently mentioned that you wanna see some toes in stockings). Please excuse the poor quality of these high heels pix but it was a very spontaneous photosession just before going out.
High heeled greetings and kisses
